happy 37th month anniversary, dear!!!! (picture from feb'06)he treated me & my mum to pizza... hurhur.. satisfied my craving for pizza~~
one of my colleagues left for NIE training... gonna say bye to another 2 nice girls this week. and only jason and i will be left here!!! hope everything goes well~ here's a picture of the fantastic 5. muahaha..
i hate doing lesson plans.... but it's true. i can't really teach without a lesson plan.... well, at least
at this stage. okie. back to marking & lesson plans... invigilation again later...
i'm glad i have these nice & humorous colleagues in school to make each day full of laughter... they like to go "MISS CHEW, CAN I HELP CHEW??" hahah.. i'll really miss them...

7th July (monday):
dear took one day leave to accompany me.. not that he is so free at work... the day began with grandma cooking egg mee sua for me!!
then we went to carousel for buffet lunch. i swear, we did not eat a lot but we were on the verge of puking. hahah. nice food. but we just happened to be full very easily that day. no pictures taken thou. then we went to vivo as i wanted to meet up with my very much-missed NIE friends. just few of us that day. tang mama, zhenyan, yiwen, huihui, vivi (tang mama's daughter) and me. they even gave me a cute teddy bear photoframe as birthday gift. haha so sweet right. yet we are all quite evil teachers. hehewe went to lee hwa again. checked out the chains and talked to alyssa. very nice and friendly staff there! i love their service very much. they said the bands will be ready for collection probably end of the month. so anyway, d' & i went to wcp for dinner and we took funny pictures. by 'funny' i mean we looked happy in a stupid way. haa.
8th july:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
what's the perfect birthday? work. from 7am to 6.15pm. haha... i stayed back in school. didn't tell my colleagues it was my birthday until one of them saw my msn nick. she was very sweet larh. she asked the few in office to sing a birthday song for me. haha... good thing i did not tell her in the day, if not they would have sang it in the canteen when the kids were having recess. then she said she was going home. but after a while, she called and asked me to go to the school gate. i thought she wanted to pass me smth to leave on her desk. she came back with 3 stalks of pink roses! she went to buy them for me...nice friend. very sweet colleague i have... she's very pretty too! the kids love her! :) some people just glow from within you know. because they are very very nice and kind at heart...
dear picked me up and we went home for dinner. yep. family dinner at home. :) mummy cooked crabs and a wonderful meal for me.
my mummy is actually a very good cook. ask d' if you don't believe me. haha. ask him how his tummy came about. after dinner, me, sis & d' went to rent dvd. i get to enjoy a free dvd rental on my birthday. so why not? we bought bubble tea and then it was cake cutting session when we reached home. yeah eat again. 3rd cake. hahah. blackforest. yummy!
i have celebrations over a few days for my birthday this year. kinda special hor? thanks to all those who sent smses... all 19 of you. thank U!! those on msn and facebook as well. :) big thank yoU!
9th july:
my CT observed my lesson and all i can say is... he is very nice and generous at the grades! hahah. i was super nervous la. almost had a nervous breakdown. went to toilet just before lesson. (realise that going for lessons helps to clean my bowels lor. oops!) students were nice to me. except a few talkative ones. i need to speak up louder though. i guess they accepted me. because those who did not pay attention chose to sit in front of me to listen to my class. :)
10th july:
gathering with glen, tk, hy from dunman high. i knew i will have no time to do my lesson planning after meeting them in the night. so i rushed and completed everything needed for next day's lesson. :) very efficient, violet. *pats on the shoulder* but when i walked outta school gate, i felt very uncomfortable. heart beat fast. felt v tensed up. i called d' and told him he gotta earn for the family because i may have to quit after the 4th year. haha. may not be able to cope with the stress... i feel i have overworked myself in that 2 and a half weeks too... kinda lost weight... but that's some happy news larh.
anyway, met the guys at ding tai feng paragon. HY and glen treated becos it was to celebrate tk and my birthdays... you see, another celebration. hahahaha... i in return, treated them desserts at PS cafe paragon. wah.. super nice double chocolate cake! hahah lotsa laughter. we always laugh like madddddddd outside..... because we have funny glen. either that or we all laugh at tk. hahahha. i love hanging out with them. sure can relief stress... muahaha..
11th july (fri):
another CT observed my lesson. it was bad. because the plug was spoilt and i can't use the nice ppt slides i have prepared. BUT! students listened and responded pretty well to everything even when i could only use the whiteboard... and i really scolded a few. no text, you stand. you block people from seeing the board & i tell you straight in the face it's all your fault. they even thanked me when i allowed them to sit. obedient kids actually... you keep talking right under my nose even after i transferred your seat.... u get a real good scolding while the whole class listens. and i give you my powerful stare. i really think i looked very very very scary. anyway, 当天课管100分！
i don't mean to frighten them or disgrace them. i just want them to learn... learn well..
took photos in the staff room. (we're always very happy on FRIDAYs) but will not post them. haha must protect my friends' identities. i'll miss them lots.. 3 of them are leaving in 1 & 2 weeks' time..
dear went for another buffet at swissotel with his colleagues and i decided not to go.. no one bringing their partner... i will feel so out of place.. so i took a bus to IMM and i used my esprit voucher happily! bought a pair of white pants... not formal pants. but able to wear it to school. *wink* $119 but reduced to $59. that means i only paid $9. YAY! bought a tee for dear too. i happily shopped in daiso for cute little presents for my sec 1s.. they're going to have a group quiz competition on monday! i really like the sec 1s. they're like little babies. very noisy ones. hahah... simply.... adorable....."laoshiiiiiiii~~~!!!!!!"
12th july (sat):
okok last day of the post! i went to my cousin's garden. left her an angel ornament... couldn't help but cry. the number of days she left us has actually exceeded the number of days she was with us.... but d' told me she must be at somewhere feeling happy now. i agree...
we went to catch *get smart* at amk after tuition... haha great show. finally decided to watch it after hearing all the good reviews my friends gave. very farni. then we went vivo~~ yes. again. to collect the wedding bands. and also eat carl's jr. hahah. rem they said the rings will most prob be ready at end of month on monday? they called on tues to say they're ready for collection. hmmm. haha. so we have the bands with us now. totally sweetttt. i term it 'beautiful' as well. and guess what's the best thing. jason served us. so we got to know one more staff. we like to be entertained by alyssa. haha she was there too. elaine who served us when we bot the bands was working. and Eric from marina whom i bought the proposal ring from got transferred to vivo too! hahah we knew everyone in the shop. and we had a great chat. cool staff from lee hwa. i went into gold heart before too. it just feels.... different. yep, the attitude. sookee was nice too. but i just happen to like destinee..........

birthday girl i am!! to be. haha @ 7:08 PM
decided to let my hair down on friday and wore my new clothes to school. my colleagues actually said i dyed my hair/cut my hair/going on a date. haha... i must have been looking too fierce with those darker shade office wear and ponytail in school....anyway, let's see... i met june, jeanie, ps (my best friends on earth) and jr on friday night at ms for a good billy bombers dinner..and all of us had a good laughing session together. and most of the time, at ps. ha!
food was great but the cheese fries quantity has reduced quite drastically larh. food pictures are with ps btw. so let's see what i've got!
the cake was chosen by jeanie and ps. they thought everything was gonna be a surprise until the waitress came over to our table with the cake and asked if 1 candle is enough for later... haha... we were very much ‘impressed' by that.then the funniest part was when we wanted to sing the birthday song~ the candle was lit. the cake was in front of me, but i was on the phone (trying hard to end the call!). then the waiter had to come and refill our cups at that time. haha should have seen our all faces. then when we thought everything's good, we wanted to start singing with ps' cue! best. she counted 3 times of "1,2,3"! so we started and restarted...~ hahah. we're one crazy bunch. dear joined us too after his work..
we sat down for a long chat in esplanade... more jokes as usual. and i was really really tired when i got home that i slept without bathing. hee. woke up at 6am to bathe. i just woke up like that. think that's the biological clock working for me... lots of thanks to my babes and JR for the wonderful friday night!!
as for saturday, i went to make a pair of new specs and dear said that's my birthday present. he collected his while i tested my eyesight for the new specs. we're gonna have couple specs. haa. i wanna look fiercer in school sometimes. hence the dark frame. thanks baby!!
we went for the bbq at godmum's place... it was a little odd because we have fewer people than what we normally have for family bbq but guess what, it turned out to be a birthday celebration for me! haha.. thanks godmum! and darlie actually conspired with her to get the fruit cake for me :) a very warm celebration actually. except when they were so excited and kept asking us to kiss when i was about to cut the cake. hmm my family may not let us off so easily during our wedding dinner i guess.... hahha. when i left with d', i really had this thought coming to my mind : my family is so cute and sweet...
then when i reached d's hse, he was so excited to pass me my present. quoting him, he said "i am very excited. can i give you your present now?"
me:"tomorrow then give?"
d':"but you need maybe one day to decipher the thing/message"
me:"huh...okok gimme now lor"
hahah... very funny hor. like the emotions abit mixed up!! follow the pics and you'll see what he gave to me. haha he's a sweet guy. muahhhhh!!

my 2 mothers! mummy on the left. godmum on the right. :) received hugs and kiss from them both last night.....
spent 50 minutes to piece them up before i got to know what was dear's birthday message to me! haa...today's sunday and there's no celebration. haha. but uncle jim is cooking the first dinner for us after his very recent retirement! yummy..
tomorrow's gonna be fun! i'm so looking forward to the lunch buffet at carousel with dear!!! hahah YUMMY YUMMY GRRREAT FOOD! then we're going vivo to meet my NIE classmates. haha lotsa things to talk about... and then catch "wanted" in GV.. woohOoS!! carousel, here i come!

a teacher's life @ 1:29 PM
it's school hours now. but i just finished attending 2 hours of lessons. so i'm free for half an hour before i go and invigilate a make-up common test.
I'm now in St. Margaret's Secondary School (girls school)... gonna be here for 10 more weeks. the girls are generally well-behaved. and the sec 1s are really cute! haha. i have 3 classes. sec 1,2 & 3. but have also gone for relief-teaching in some sec 4 and sec 1 classes. i just went to stand in for a sec 4 biology lab lesson today lor. haha best. st. marg's is a school full of activities can... we had petathon last saturday (i was down for road marshall) and there was a fun fair in school to raise funds. saw very cute dogs from the petathon too! (petathon= girls bringing their pets for a walk to botanic gardens) racial harmony day coming soon... so is speech day... and then we have national day celebration and also teacher's day celebration. my last day in school will be teachers' day celebration~!
the school is nice... i kinda like it here... so up till this point of time, i feel like coming back here after my NIE course.
school food is nice.. haha.. my table is big...and i have made it very homely already. full of textbooks and SNACKS. haha... the new student teachers from NIE all say I have brought many things to school. like all kinds of stationery, well, except scotch tape. and i need it now. urgh..
i am slow.... i have only come out with 2 lesson plans!! urgh. i need 5. for next week. and my supervisor is coming for the scary observation on 17th july.
I'm only observing how my mentors teach their classes last week and also this week. should be starting proper next week. there are already students asking me if i'm going to teach them soon.. i am very much looking forward to that as well.... :)
their standard in term of chinese language is err. i can only say they are too angmoh already. so it will be challenging~~ i realise i have forgotten how to write many chinese characters already!! student had to point out my mistake. and.... i thanked her of course. i just think it's not right to insist you're right all the time and be ashamed to apologize for your mistakes.... yupyup. so, just be frank. it is a must to improve my own chinese now!!
that's about all... for the updates. i'm gonna celebrate throughout the long weekend!! :) friends and dear are going to have dinner and lunch dates with me over the next few days... love them so much!
